Current Situation
Fire is not carrying in the 2009 Backbone Fire footpring, but is working it's way around it, moving east and north. Don Garwood's Type 2 SoCal #2 Interagency Management Team (IMT)assumed command of the fire today. Infra red flight last night brings acreage up to 1647. Fuel for the fire includes Fire is burning in the 1999 Megram Fire. Mechanism of spread is snag to snag and log to log causing torching of ceanothus brush. Very high resistance to control.. Terrain difficulty is Extreme.
